Boston University AR/VR

The problem: Boston University’s AR/VR Club (augmented reality/virtual reality) hired the BU Ad Club in January 2019 to promote their first annual AR/VR Festival and to stimulate general interest in their club. They were concerned that not enough people understood what AR/VR was, and they could potentially increase their club membership if people knew what they were offering in a simple visual way.

Insight: AR/VR lets you literally experience a completely new world, just by putting on a pair of goggles or holding up your phone.

The solution: A series of posters promoting the club itself, and a poster promoting the upcoming festival in April. These posters would be distributed around BU’s campus and put out through BU AR/VR/s social media channels.

I provided the graphics for this campaign, while my copywriting partner MK Moore worked on the copy. It was a lot of fun to think of all the different worlds that you could explore through AR/VR, and we just had to end up making a reference to The Matrix (who doesn’t love a Boston Terrier dressed up as Neo?!).
